INSIDE THE JAR
A CLOSER LOOK
THE TEXTURE
Not a dry rub — salt held in a base of butters and oil. Worked over damp skin before rinsing, then left to do its work. One note: the oils make surfaces slippery, so it’s best used standing rather than sitting.
THE HERO
Our hero is Blackthorn sea salt — hand-harvested from Scottish seawater on the Ayrshire coast. Fine, clean crystals with a cool mineral character, the same salt that runs through the whole range, from the soap to the bath. It’s what ties this scrub back to the Scottish shore, and the reason the salt here means something rather than simply filling a jar.
THE GRAIN
Alongside it, pink Himalayan salt brings the coarser grain — the part that does the actual polishing. It lifts away dullness and dead skin without scratching, so what’s left is genuinely smooth, not just rinsed. One salt for character, one for grain.
WHAT STAYS BEHIND
The salt does the polishing; the oils do the looking-after. Shea and mango butters with jojoba cushion the skin as you work, then stay behind as the salt rinses away — so you step out already soft, with no tight, stripped feeling, and usually no need for lotion after.
SEALED FROM LIGHT
Natural oils and essential oils are sensitive to light. Over time daylight breaks them down, dulling the scent and tiring a formula that has no synthetic preservatives holding it together. Each jar is made from deep violet glass that works like a filter — blocking almost all visible light and letting only the violet part of the spectrum through, shielding what’s inside from the light that would wear it down. The scent stays truer, the oils stay fresher, and the blend keeps the character it had the day it was made, for longer. The colour is in the glass itself, not a coating, so it never washes off or fades — which is why each jar is made to be kept, refilled and reused rather than thrown away.
THE SCENT
Every scent in the range is natural, never synthetic fragrance. Natural scent behaves differently: it’s quieter, it shifts a little as it settles on the skin, and it fades more honestly. That’s the choice we make — a scent that smells like the plant it came from.
